461 Ocean Boulevard is het tweede soloalbum van Eric Clapton. RSO Records bracht het in juli 1974 uit. David Gahr fotografeerde voor de albumhoes het huis waarin Clapton tijdens de opnames woonde: 461 Ocean Boulevard in Golden Beach (Florida).

De muziek werd in het voorjaar van 1974 opgenomen in de Criteria Studios in Miami. Tom Dowd verzorgde de muzikale productie.

De liedjes "I Shot the Sheriff" (geschreven door Bob Marley) en "Willie and the Hand Jive" werden als singles uitgegeven.

461 Ocean Boulevard was in commercieel opzicht een groot succes. Clapton bereikte met dit album de eerste plaats in Canada en de Verenigde Staten. Het Amerikaanse muziekblad Rolling Stone plaatste het op de 441ste plaats in hun lijst van de vijfhonderd beste albums. Het album wordt beschreven in het boek 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

461 Ocean Boulevard is the second solo studio album by English musician Eric Clapton. It was released in late July 1974 by RSO Records, after the record company released the hit single "I Shot the Sheriff" earlier in the month. The album topped various international charts and sold more than two million copies.

The album was Clapton's return to the recording studio after a three-year hiatus due to his heroin addiction. The title refers to the address on Ocean Boulevard in Golden Beach, Florida, where Clapton lived while recording the album. Upon completing the album, Clapton and RSO head Robert Stigwood recommended the house and Miami's Criteria Studios to fellow RSO artists the Bee Gees, who then moved in to write and record Main Course. The street address of the house was changed after the album's release.

A remastered two-disc deluxe edition of the album was released in 2004, which included selections from two live shows at the Hammersmith Odeon, and additional studio jam sessions.
